Energy-Saving Trees Program

The Energy-Saving Trees program is a partnership between Redding Electric Utility, the City's Community Services Department, and the Arbor Day Foundation. To date, this program has distributed 2,200 shade trees to Redding residents, with 1,000 more scheduled for October 2019. 

This year, you can choose from the following species, while supplies last:

Northern Red Oak

Hackberry

Little-Leaf Linden

Zelkova

Eastern Red Bud

Chinese Elm (Drake)

Chitalpa

This program is designed to produce energy-saving shade for City of Redding residents to lower their power bill and reduce contributions to greenhouse gas emissions. This effort is funded by the Redding Electric Utility as a public benefit program. There are no more available trees for this program year.
