The Energy-Saving Trees program is a partnership between Redding Electric Utility and the City's Community Services Department. To date, this program has distributed 3,200 shade trees to Redding residents, with 1,000 more deliveries scheduled for October 2020.

This program is designed to produce energy-saving shade for City of Redding residents to lower their power bill and reduce contributions to greenhouse gas emissions. This effort is funded by the Redding Electric Utility as a public benefit program. There are no more available trees for this program year.
